About Me
10 Years of Making Things Right.
When I was a student, I sometimes wondered if law would be meaningful enough. Then I discovered its power and purpose.
I stopped a stalker from harassing a client. I found justice for a father whose child had been kidnapped. I even helped a wrongly accused man sue the police.
Today, I specialize in housing and social justice law. There’s nothing more fulfilling than empowering my clients.
Key takeaways
expertise in Housing Law
During my seven years at the Centre de Justice de Proximité, I helped over 1,000 tenants and landlords resolve disputes.
I’ve also made more than 20 media appearances discussing all aspects of housing law.
Other lawyers turn to me for expertise through the following workshops I’ve provided:
- In 2025, regarding the current housing crisis and its legal repercussions – a workshop attended by the Québec Court of Appeal’s Research Legal staff
- In 2024, regarding legislative changes made to Housing Law – a workshop attended by over 2300 legal professionals on the Centre d’accès à l’information juridique platform
- In 2023, regarding key aspects of Housing Law with the Québec Bar’s Foundation
Lastly, since 2022, I have taught two housing law courses at McGill University and UQÀM.
expertise in Social justice
Housing issues can cause, or be caused by, serious problems in other areas of a person’s life. Safety, physical and mental health, finances, are just some examples.
While at the Centre de justice de proximité, my role encompassed all aspects of social justice. I’ve tackled complex, human problems through direct, creative, and often investigative approaches. My concrete approach has helped clients use the law to tackle problems of harassment, elder abuse and mental illness.
Lastly, I have taught Social Justice Law at UQÀM in 2024 and in 2025.
free 10-minute phone call
I offer a free 10-minute phone call to help you determine whether or not I am a good fit for you.
Cost of services
After a first free 10-minute phone call, clients can expect:
1- An Initial Consultation
The first step is to listen to you, to understand what your needs are and identify how I can help you meet them. We will discuss this together during your initial consultation, for which I charge 234$ an hour (+ GST/QST).
2- An Offer of Services
Following this, I will prepare an Offer of Services that describes my understanding of the problem and the steps required to resolve it (The Mandate).
3- The Mandate
Your Mandate will include an estimate of hours to arrive at the various milestones necessary to meet your needs.
Most steps will be charged at an hourly rate basis. Sometimes, it might be more appropriate to charge on a percentage or contingency basis – this is something we will determine during your initial consultation.
Lastly, I will on occasion accept legal aid mandates. My committment to teaching future lawyers unfortunately limits my capacity to take on many such mandates.
